How would you like to be visited by a giant whale shark (Rhincodon typus)? Our husbandry staff was treated to a 20-plus-foot specimen in Baja California, Mexico, about 75-100 miles out to sea. They go there to collect tuna for the Aquarium and tag mahi mahi for Mexican researchers. According to our staff, the whale shark found the whole process fascinating, and stayed close to the boat for a long time!
